The inspiration for these 'Beads of Joy' comes from the colours in my garden, the lush forests that surround our community and the ever changing ocean outside my windows. The form and texture of foliage, the light on the water, the lines of intersecting shadows, the hues of sunrises and sunsets, a drop of rain on a leaf - all create Joy in my heart and make me happy. I love working with glass and each bead I make fills me with Joy. Coincidentally, my middle name is "Joy", so the emotion is part of who I am and has always been.
Living across the street from the ocean in Qualicum Beach, a small community on Vancouver Island, Canada offers unlimited creativity. I am blessed with time, energy and wonderful people to support me as I follow this adventure. As a self-taught artist I am on a continuous learning journey and I appreciate your suggestions and feedback with ideas on new styles and colour combinations to explore. I hope you find my beads interesting and they make you feel good when you look at them.
