Beads of Joy are hand-crafted glass beads made in my home studio. All my beads are kiln annealed to ensure they will last many lifetimes. The inspiration for these beads comes from the colors in my garden, the lush forests that surround our community and the ever changing ocean outside my windows. The form and texture of foliage, the light on the water, the lines of intersecting shadows, the hues of sunrises and sunsets, a drop of rain on a leaf - all create Joy in my heart and make me happy.
I love working with glass and so each bead I make is filled with Joy. This isn’t hard as Joy is also my middle name and is part of who I am and have always been.
I hope you find my beads interesting and they make you feel good when you look at them. As a self-taught artist I am on a continuous learning adventure and I appreciate your suggestions and feedback with ideas on new styles and color combinations to explore.
I live across the street from the ocean in Qualicum Beach, a small community on Vancouver Island which is located on the west coast of Canada. I am blessed with time, energy and wonderful people to support me as I follow this adventure.
I am building a website to showcase more of my beads so my customers can see more of my work. At some point I may some day sell my beads on-line, and if I do they will be posted on this site. In the meantime, You can reach me at 250 752 1604 or wendy@beadsof joy.ca.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Wendy Joy
